Pick-up starts at 0900 hrs from the hotel for a guided Kota Kinabalu city tour featuring the Signal Hill Observatory for a panoramic aerial view of KK city and islands, the historic Atkinson Clock Tower and the nearby Tree That Gave Gold which tells a unique local legend, the “0” Kilometre marking the starting point of the city and the Sabah Tourism 100 Years Building, a visit to Puh Toh Tze Temple for its serene hilltop setting, the Sabah State Museum & Heritage Village showcasing Sabah’s diverse cultures and traditions, a photo stop at Tun Mustapha Tower, the tallest building in Sabah, the iconic City Mosque in Likas, famously known as the “floating mosque”, and Anjung Kinabalu Handicraft Market for local souvenirs and handicrafts, before returning to the hotel.

Evening Session (1400 hrs)

Pick-up starts at 1400 hrs from the hotel for an afternoon and evening Kota Kinabalu city tour, beginning with visits to the historic Atkinson Clock Tower and the nearby Tree That Gave Gold, followed by the “0” Kilometre and Sabah Tourism 100 Years Building as the symbolic heart of the city, the Sabah State Museum & Heritage Village to gain insight into Sabah’s rich cultural heritage, photo stops at Tun Mustapha Tower, the tallest building in Sabah, and the iconic City Mosque in Likas, famously known as the “floating mosque”, then continuing to Anjung Kinabalu Handicraft Market for local souvenirs, a stop at Signal Hill Observatory for an aerial view of Kota Kinabalu city, and finally ending at Tanjung Aru Beach to enjoy the breathtaking sunset before returning to the hotel.

Overland drive over the ridges of the mountain range. Have a short stop at Pekan Nabalu market for a quick break also to savor local fruits that are in season before continuing your journey and visit Sabah’s most popular National Park, the Kinabalu National Park gazetted as a World Heritage Site in 2000. The park covers 754 sq km and is the home to the highest mountain between the Himalayas and Papua New Guinea. Acclaimed to have two thirds of the world’s floras, some of which are endemic to the mountain area only. Look out for the exceptionally rare and beautiful Slipper Orchids. The world’s largest pitcher plant can also be found in Kinabalu Park. Ideal for bird watchers as more than 264 species of birds including migratory birds have been recorded here. Drive past vistas of rice fields and native villages. Participate in the daily jungle walk with a Park Naturalist on guided trails and learn about some of the medicinal plants found along the way. On a clear day, visitors will be able to view the majestic Mount Kinabalu (4,095m) above lush tropical jungles. Learn more of the park’s surroundings at the exhibition hall as your local guide narrates each segment of the park. After lunch, return to Kota Kinabalu in the early afternoon.

Explore the tropical rainforest as you follow one of the many trails that lead up to the canopy walkway, 42m above the forest floor. This facility was originally made for scientific research until it was opened to the public to experience the breathtaking walk on the canopy. Thereafter proceed to the nearby hot springs pool, which is believed to have therapeutic benefits for skin care. While here, you may also visit the nearby Kipungit waterfall, the butterfly farm as well as being on the look out for the biggest flower in the world, the rafflesia. This gigantic parasite flower is known to grow within and outside the park area. After lunch, retrace your journey to Kinabalu Park and explore the mountain forest with our own naturalist guide. Return to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon.

Overland drive over the ridges passing scenic countryside to Kiulu. Upon arrival, proceed to the starting point where our Raft Master will give you a briefing on safety and the techniques of rafting before you get into the lifejackets and start off. After light refreshment, begin to tackle the 9½ km rapids, glide peacefully along the river and experience body rafting before continuing to the end point. Freshen up and enjoy a hearty lunch beside the river and then return to your hotel.

An enjoyable 1.5 hours ride to Beaufort town passing idyllic coastal areas. Board a colonial era railcar (1.5 hours) for a ride up the wild Padas gorge to the starting point (PANGI Station). The track hugs the edge of the riverbank on one side, and the mighty Crocker range on the other. Padas River offers the ultimate roller ride for skilled rafters. Embark on a roller-coaster ride through rapids with names such as Head-hunter, Adrenaline Flow, and Merry-Go-Round, before enjoying a sumptuous barbeque lunch at the end of the trip.

Notes for RAFTING TOUR (KIULU & PADAS):
1. A briefing on safety precautions and rafting techniques is given by the instructors before the rafting. Life jackets and helmets are provided.

2. All participants must sign liability waivers before embarking on this trip. The operation of this tour depends on water levels at the river.

Depart from Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort district on a two-hour drive to the southwest of Sabah. On arrival at jetty, proceed for introductory and safety briefing and refreshment before beginning your river cruise in search of wildlife, especially the endemic proboscis monkey aka long nose monkey along the river. This area is part of the largest Klias wetland sanctuary in Sabah and has recorded a large number of bird species including migratory birds. You will also have the opportunity to see pig-tailed and long-tailed macaques, the rare silver langur, and water buffaloes. The cruise will last till sunset and as you return to the jetty, you will witness a Mother Nature show of fireflies, lighting up certain trees along the river. After a traditional dinner on the jetty, return to your hotel.

Mari-Mari Cultural Village tour is located deep in the countryside away from the modern and developing Kota Kinabalu City. The village operates as a museum that preserves Borneo ethnic culture. It aims to share the knowledge, history, culture, and tradition of Borneo with you so that it is not forgotten. The tour offers you the opportunity to see and experience the culture and lifestyle of how the indigenous ethnic group of Borneo used to live in the olden days when electricity had not yet been introduced in their land. The village features 5 different ethnic tribes. (lunch / high tea)

Morning departure from the hotel and transfer to the jetty terminal. Take a 10-20mins boat ride to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, free at leisure on the island, snorkeling activity on the island. Transfer to another island for sea walking activity. A light lunch will be served. Late afternoon departure back to jetty and hotel. (lunch)

Your day starts at 8:00 AM with hotel pickup in Kota Kinabalu, followed by a scenic drive to Tagal Tinopikon Park, a peaceful village surrounded by lush greenery. You’ll arrive around 9:00 AM and be welcomed with a traditional gong beating ceremony, a Kadazan-Dusun symbol of hospitality. A short briefing will then introduce the Tagal system, a community-based river conservation practice.

Next, enjoy a relaxing fish spa foot soak in the river. At 10:00 AM, take part in a traditional cooking demonstration, learning how villagers prepare local dishes such as hinava, spicy and sour fish, and kundur chicken soup.

Afterwards, head to the activity area to try fun traditional village games, including sack race, coconut bowling, blowpipe balloon shooting, and tin can slingshot. At around 12:00 PM, enjoy a traditional lunch featuring the dishes prepared earlier.

After lunch, depart for your hotel, the airport, or your next destination, bringing home a memorable village cultural experience.

Please be ready at Sutera Marina Jetty before 1700hrs.

Enjoy a relaxing evening cruise along the South China Sea, passing scenic islands and traditional water villages along Sabah’s west coast. Feel free to explore the vessel and soak in the calm early evening atmosphere.

At 5:30 PM, an NBC buffet dinner will be served, featuring a variety of local Sabah dishes. You may dine on the upper deck and enjoy ocean views, sunset colors, and a refreshing sea breeze.

During the cruise, take time to stroll around the ship, enjoy the sea views, and capture photos of the beautiful surroundings. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available on board.

Inside the air-conditioned restaurant, enjoy live acoustic music as the cruise passes Kota Kinabalu’s Waterfront, offering lovely views of the illuminated city skyline. The evening continues with a live band performance and special showcase.

The cruise returns to Sutera Marina Jetty at 7:30 PM, ending a memorable dinner cruise experience.

Meet your driver at the hotel and depart for the Borneo Paddle Monkey Paddling Centre located at The Pacific Sutera Hotel, Beach. Upon arrival, take a short walk to the beach and proceed with registration. There will be a safety briefing and a paddling demonstration by your instructor to guide you through the basics of stand-up paddling. Once the briefing is done, begin your paddling session and follow the instructions of your paddle guide throughout the activity. Enjoy the relaxing experience as you paddle along the scenic coast. After the session, return to the paddling centre and your driver will take you back to your hotel.

After the session, return to mainland and your driver will take you back to your hotel.
